Dynamic flood risk#
The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (SMC) issues warnings on the forecast of various dangerous situations. These are issued on a comarcal basis.
In the calculation of the dynamic risk, the SMP warnings for rain intensity and rain accumulation are crossed with tables that express the vulnerability on a municipality-by-municipality basis.
The methodology used to calculate the dynamic flood risk in the event of a Hazard Meteorological Situation (SMP) can be found in detail in Annex 8.9 of the INUNCAT Plan. It consists of multiplying the SMP warning level by the static vulnerability level of each municipality (with weighting factors).

The resulting level of risk at municipal level is expressed in the following categories:
- Yellow
- Orange
- Red
- Lilac
Temporal resolution#
The same Temporal resolution as for SMP warnings is used: 3-day forecast, with a 6 hour time step.
Update frequency#
Data is updated in real time.

The current status of the warnings is displayed. Clicking on the area provides additional information and also an evolution graph.
