A threshold for each product#
This section allows you to configure the thresholds used for the generation of warnings and the maximum time horizon to be used in the forecast products.
Product thresholds#
Based on studies, references from authorities, or own experience, thresholds can be set for all hazard data. Thus, depending on:
The hazard (floods, heat waves, etc.).
The product (sensors, radar, etc.).
We will define the desired thresholds.
These thresholds are used when generating warnings and can be unique for each element of a product.
Time horizon limits#
Forecasting products have a time horizon that in some cases may exceed the threshold we may consider appropriate for warning generation.
For example, the numerical models of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) provides a forecast of different meteorological variables of up to 10 days ahead.
In this section we can configure, product by product, the time horizon limit so that we only receive notifications if a warning is generated during that time frame.
Temporal persistence#
In some circumstances the value in a time series (observed or forecasted) may oscillate around a threshold, being above it at one instant and below it at the next. In these cases, it is useful to be able to configure a time persistence so that warning notifications will only be sent if the threshold is exceeded 2 or more consecutive times.
In this section we can configure, product by product, the time persistence to be used.
